Last night I played a session on The Thursday Night Show featuring “more tunes from some outer space” which is a fancy schmancy way of saying songs that have grabbed me by the ears and made me reach for my Shazam! The tunes came from a variety of sources, adverts on the TV, BBC radios 2 and 6 and a couple of personal recommendations.
It features 1940s Jazz, Krautrock, forgotten New Wave gems, old & new school Disco, Reggae, Ska and a spalsh of Handbag. It should include Euros Childs’ “Ooh La Oona” and Henry Badowski’s “Henry’s in Love” but for some reason, these gems aren’t available on Spotify which is nothing short of criminal!
