Thursday 26 January 2023 sees the unveiling of Fauxtown Chartbuster Volume 2 over on ttns.uk from 9pm.
When I posted the event on Facebook some people asked me what I meant by Fauxtown. I was a bit surprised as, in my head, it made perfect sense but apparently it doesn’t! Originally I would say “Fauxtown = not Motown” which sort of makes sense but only “sort of”.
Now I look at it, it is a bit of a daft name. So, by way of a clearer explanation here’s my definition of Fauxtown.
Faux means fake or false, and Fauxtown rhymes with Motown. Fauxtown is my name for songs that sound like Motown songs but aren’t. Simple really.
