It was a lovely summery evening and we played some lovely summery songs.
I don’t think I have heard Anita Ward’s Ring My Bell quite so often as I had in the run up to the party since it was a mega hit in 1979. It seemed to be on the radio ALL the time, so obviously I had to include it’s funky futurist disco sounds in our playlist. We had loads of requests for Northern Soul tracks and a smattering of 90s trash dance music (which my friend Liz would have loved if she’d been able to come along). I’m gonna get you baby, yes I am!
There was even a conga! I don’t think we’ve had one of those before. I was shocked!
