Electric Bastille Day

Now I always have trouble settling on a theme for our little at home soirees, and our 27th outing (is it an inning if we are staying at home?) was no different. July 10th was as usual awash with famous births, deaths, anniversaries and events. Two jumped out and for the life of me, I couldn’t decide between the two; Nikola Tesla Day and Bastille Day.

To solve this dilemma and avoid hard choices I decided to do as I have done previously, and squished them together.

The Tesla/Bastille combo proved to be  a rich seam for chansons françaises éclectiques AND électriques. Was it the crackle of lightning, the knock of rolling heads on wood, the smell cake or the whiff of freedom that made me feel thunderstruck? I don’t know but there was definitely revolution or something in the air last night!
