June is our birthday month, and in 2021, Club 30-80 are 5! Can you believe it?
I didn’t cry as it turns out. Maybe that’s because I don’t have a Jonny or a Judy for that matter, and we had quite a time of it! As part of the request process this time I asked our regulars and some other friends too what song had been top of the charts/hit parade when they hit their own fifth birthday. The results were eclectice and made the music a little different from our usual offering.
The last minute birthday bash (on the 5th, very fitting) was crammed with sweet hits from the collected 5th birthday charts. There were lollies and pop for everyone and the proceedings were liberally sprinkled with “fives”. There were a couple of issues though. We at Club 30-80 would like to point out that even if you have never kissed either a bear or a goon, in no way can we ever condone “shaking a chicken in the middle of the room” regardless of whether you are having a party or not at the time! It’s just not right! Also, while we’re at it Andrew W.K. may advocate that we “party til we puke”, Club 30-80 would like to remind you that other party outcomes are available.
